Solís: "The club condemn any type of racist insults"
Valencia CF Corporate Director, Javier Solís, responded to statements made by Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti after the game between the two sides.
Rejection of Ancelotti's statements
In light of the unfortunate and completely incorrect statements by Mr. Ancelotti, in which he branded all of the fans at Mestalla as racist, the club cannot tolerate this. We reject these complaints head-on. Possibly it is the result of a mistake in the language, and he must have understood another word as being said. The club condemn any type of racist insults and are working to identify the people who allegedly made a gesture or action, but calling all the Valencia CF fans racist is nonsense and the club cannot remain silent.
Expecting apologies from Carlo Ancelotti
We understand that when Ancelotti realises the mistake he has made and the very serious statements he has made, he should apologise, in the same way that both the coach and I condemn any racist insult. In the same way, when he realises the mistake he has made, he should apologise.
Vinicius' gestures
We have not spoken to anyone from Real Madrid. Real Madrid are a club that are always known for their class, and we hope they show that. When they realise that these are incorrect statements, we understand that they should condemn them. In the same way that their player Vinicius will be told that he cannot express himself like that or repeat those gestures. It seemed unpleasant to me. A player cannot gesture to a stadium that their team are going down to the Segunda División and not be condemned.
Valencia CF will apply internal regulations
Valencia CF will apply the club's internal regulations with the greatest severity, which will entail the expulsion of those fans involved. We are working on their identification and subsequent banning from the stadium.
